"The worst major event we've ever been to, easily. We arrived at noon via the Long Island Railroad. Getting close to our turn at the metal detectors by 1:00. Did they not think there would be that many people? We decided to stop by the concession before checking out our reserved grandstand seats of $90. Before 2:00, we ordered 2 $15 Jewels, the signature drink of the Belmont Stakes, from Pigeons Playing Ping Pong. They were all out of the ingredients for making the drink. Throughout the day, we visited 4 other stands in different locations and never able to order the drink. The sound system at our seats was so poor, we could never understand a single word. The video display board had a big section not working so you couldn't read which horse came in 3rd. The food choices were very limited and not very good. Shocking how poorly run this event was."
